Atlantic Sapphire harvested 5,096 tonnes HOG of salmon in 2025
United States landbased salmon farmer Atlantic Sapphire harvested a total volume of 1,183 tonnes (head on gutted weight - HOG) in the final quarter of last year, a lower volume than the 1,427 tonnes HOG harvested in the previous quarter, it said in a trading update.
For the full year 2025 Atlantic Sapphire harvested 5,096 tonnes HOG, a little lower than the 5,400 tonnes HOG guided in the company's report for the first half of 2025 and published at the end of August.
During the fourth quarter, net biomass gain was 1,683 tonnes live weight (RLW) (Q3 2025: 1,741t). Standing biomass at the end of the period was 3,437 tonnes RLW (Q3 2025: 3,215t).
Average harvest weight
Average harvest weight in Q4 was 2.9 kg HOG (Q3 2025: 3.1 kg). The sales price in the quarter was US $8.28 per kg HOG (Q3: USD 8.58 per kg).
According to the company's H1 report, 2026 volume is expected to be ~7,000 tonnes HOG.
In the first half of 2025, Atlantic Sapphire had operating revenue of $21.55 million (H1 2024: $11.2m) and harvested 2,486 tonnes HOG (2,395t). It made an operating loss of $34m, down from $148.8m in H1 2024, and forecasts reaching break-even this year.
Phase 1 of Atlantic Sapphire’s Bluehouse recirculating aquaculture system (RAS) in Homestead, Florida, just south of Miami, has the capacity to harvest up to approximately 7,500-8,500 tonnes HOG of salmon annually.
The company is currently developing its Phase 2 expansion, which will bring total annual production capacity to 25,000 tonnes.
