Land-based fish farming supplier appoints new chairman
Malta-headquartered aquaculture technologies and services company AquaBioTech Group has appointed Anton J Buttigieg as its new non-executive chairman.
The company said the move is a key part of its continued international expansion plans for its land-based fish farming technology. It added that Buttigieg will bring new depth and perspective to the board and strengthen its internal governance, reinforcing efforts made by the company’s executive team that is aggressively seeking new projects in Asia, Africa and other regions.
Buttigieg is a specialist in international trade and export development with over 15 years of leadership experience during which time he was the also the founding chief executive of Trade Malta for more than 10 years.
As CEO of TradeMalta, he supported hundreds of Malta-based companies in expanding internationally through financial incentives, market intelligence, trade missions, and participation in major global trade shows. He has led high-level delegations across Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, often alongside senior government leaders. Buttigieg also served on the Board of Trade Promotion Europe for four years, including two as vice president.
Export experience
