Land-based brand launched in Norwegian grocery stores

Salmon Evolution has entered into a strategic partnership with Lofotprodukt AS. Next week, the latter will launch smoked salmon made from Salmon Evolution's land-based salmon under its "Lofoten" brand.

"We have received countless requests from consumers who want to buy our salmon. So from week 8, this smoked salmon will be available in Meny and selected Spar stores throughout Norway," said Odd Frode Roaldsnes, chief commercial officer (CCO) at Salmon Evolution in a press release.

Øystein Rist, CCO at Lofotprodukt AS, said: "Our common goal is to increase seafood consumption and give consumers a greater selection on store shelves by introducing land-based salmon as an alternative to conventional products."

This product is listed with NorgesGruppen, which has chosen to introduce it in its Meny stores and selected Spar stores.

The first smoked salmon package from a land-based facility to be launched in Norwegian grocery stores.

According to the press release, NorgesGruppen plays an important role in bringing this product to market.

"The launch from Lofoten and Salmon Evolution contributes to a broader assortment for our customers at Meny and Spar. Furthermore, we want to gain deeper insight into various consumer needs and hope that this product will create lasting value over time," said Camilla Moe, category manager for fresh fish and seafood at NorgesGruppen.
