Hansen, who was born in 1978, comes from a position as a senior manager at accounting heavyweight EY, and has education in fisheries economics, business, as well as accounting and auditing.

Rune Johansen, who has been CFO since Gigante listed on Euronext Growth Oslo, will also take on the role of chief investor relations officer (CIRO), responsible for the company's investor relations. Gigante writes that the change is part of strengthening the administration in line with the company's growth.

"With Benny as CFO, we strengthen the team with a person who has solid experience in financial management, reporting and control. Benny has the ability to make the numbers understandable – even for those of us who prefer to talk fish – and will be an important resource in the work of achieving the company's goals," says chief executive Kjell Lorentsen.

Rune Johansen will continue in the company's management and will have primary responsibility for the dialogue with the investor market.

Gigante Salmon farms fish in pools excavated into the bedrock of a small island in western Norway. The company is on track to increase production and work towards a full capacity of 16,000 gutted weight tonnes annually from 2028.
