"Production increased in the quarter and is already close to full run rate for stages 1 and 2 combined," the company reports.

Biomass production in the first quarter of 2026 was 2,161 tonnes, bringing the total biomass up to 4,991 tonne.

"Biological development is still strong, with good fish health, no sexual maturation and high survival," Nordic Aqua says in a trading update.

Project progress

Stage 2 of the facility at Ningbo is nearing completion, as Nordic Aqua has now transferred fish to all of its recirculating aquaculture system grow-out units.

The first harvest of fish from stage 2 is expected in September 2026.

The full report for Q1 2026 will be published on May 21.
